Combating Nail and Foot Infections

If you have notice discolored nails and flaking skin on your feet you may have a nail and foot fungus. As you mature the probability that you will get a nail infection increases. 30 Million Americans have some kind of nail and foot fungus.

If you have a nail or foot fungus it is very contagious and can infect other people in your family. If left unchecked you may have to have your nails surgery removed. However if caught early topical treatments and Lamisil taken orally could cure the foot fungus.

If you see white spots or discoloration on your toenails see a doctor right away and nip the infection in the bud. The infection can spread to other parts of your body like your groin, beard, and hair. Don't make the mistake of letting a foot infection be out of sight out of mind.

The various types of fungi are very persist. Dr. Demi Turner, of Montclair New Jersey suggests putting moth balls in all your shoes and covering them with air tight plastic bags while undergoing treatments for infected toenails.

He suggests this will kill the fungus in your shoes and help you from reinfecting yourself.
